I am speechless, breathless and exhausted from an AMAZING TpT conference over the past few days. If you are a blogger visiting here today grab this button and start your small novel of all things Vegas!
Myself and 600 of my closest Teachers Pay Teachers friends joined up in Viva Las Vegas for an amazing couple of days of meet-ups, happy hours, sessions and good 'ole fashioned fun!
As usual I didn't take nearly as many pictures as I should have. I was too caught up in the laughs, chats, stories and getting-to-know you of the conference. It was such an awesome experience to meet the gals who I've gotten to know through the world wide web, but had never met in person. They were just as fabulous in real life as they are online. Hooray!
Here's what I had for pictures...Everyone is still in recovery a bit so the sharing of the photos hasn't quite happened yet. Be sure to pop all around the linky party to read about what a fulfilling and worthwhile event this was!
For me I had a loooong journey to Nevada. Cape Cod isn't even close to Target never mind Las Vegas. So I spent a lot of Tuesday traveling and even though I was flying for approximately a million hours it was still only 12:45 when I arrived. What the what? Silly time zones! But it was all worth it to see the view and rest in my ultra cozy bed. My roommate was of course Molly of Lucky to be in First. I can't believe I didn't know her until just over a year ago....How did either of us survive? And this was our fantabulous view!
Here are us crazy cats whooping it up. The picture on the left was taken by a professional photographer for the SDE conference. It would've been cool if he let me know my sign was upside down. And there's nothing like a good selfie!
After reuniting with Molly I FINALLY met these amazing blogger/Tpt-ers who I have been communicating with for a long time. I loved them just as much as I thought I would! Top left and bottom right is the amazing Aimee of Primarily Speaking. I LOVE this girl. So much I even took a late night nap on her shoulder! And she gave us all shot glasses.- what's not to love? Plus we are both covered in freckles...It's like a quiet inside club us freckled people are in. She was totally "my people". In the top right corner there you'll also see Christy of Crayons and Whimsy, Vera of The Tutu Teacher and Melissa of First Grade Smiles. These gals were an absolute delight!
Us girls in the top right corner there rocked out at New Kids on the Block!!
I was never a NKOTB fan when I was younger, but it was Vegas and I was like "Why not?". I was so glad I went. They were a blast. I think they know it's kind of ridiculous they are doing this at 45, but they kicked in into high gear. And I'm sure they are laughing all the way to the bank!
That guy there...Oh it's Joey!
My last night I went to Benihana with a few of the amazing gals I already met plus the hilarious and adorable Jamie from Bright Concept 4 Teachers. She's also in the freckle club! We never ran out of anything to talk about....How could you when I was drinking out of a Buddha man. I gifted him to that sweetie Vera. Regretfully that Buddha only has one arm now due to an elevator mishap.
I hope Vera will still love him! We also spent some quality time with Jen of Teaching in the Tongass, Aris of Sailing Into Second and Sara of The Colorful Apple but I couldn't find any pics of them on my phone...weird!
I also know some hilarious sweet bloggers who teach upper grades. I had some fun selfie time with Amanda of Collaboration Cuties and Jessica of Ideas by Jivey. These girls are the cutest. We didn't get to spend nearly enough time together!
Friday was the official Tpt conference where we had a keynote, 4 sessions and a happy hour. I am still processing everything. At this point I know I need to just keep working hard with integrity and diligence. It's like that Field of Dreams quote-
"If you build it they will come...".
The keynote speech brought tears to my eyes. The founder of TpT Paul Edelman was amazing. He brought a hug for everyone there! How nice of him =) My friend Melissa was doing her best to grab all the extras! Also the amazing Deanna Jump spoke. Her speech was sweet, funny, inspiring and overall amazing. She is seriously a genuine, hardworking, humble person. I was incredibly impressed. We also heard from the stupendous Amy and the super cute CEO John Yoo of TpT!
Selfie time with John Yoo!
Here's a trio of Deanna!
The most inspiring part of my weekend was meeting my blog idol Cara Carroll. I started following Cara about 3 summers ago when I had just had my third child and spent a lot of time in front of the computer nursing. I was so inspired and moved by her wealth of fun and fantastic classroom ideas. I think I may have been her #1 customer!! I'm not from the South, but "y'all" she is the absolute sweetest thing ever! And she knew who I was! I feel like only my mom, husband and kids know me. Well now I can add the amazing Cara to that list. We chatted kids, wine, friends and teaching. I can't wait for next year to pick up where we left off I look like a little bit of a stalker in this pic...whoops.
My only problem was there was not enough time!! There were loads more bloggers who I wanted to meet, but never quite made it to seeing.
There's always next year!
