Inch by Inch and Row by Row

Gonna make this garden grow!
All it takes is a rake and a hoe
And a piece of fertile ground!

I wish I could invite you lovely people
into my head because I can think
of a song for everything and am
constantly singing a tune (very out of tune!).
My first graders think I'm a crazy woman.
They aren't far off most days!

We started out plant unit this week.
I love teaching plants.
The interactive nature of planting and
taking care of the plants is such a
wonderful learning experience for all.
Especially their teacher- Mrs. Black Thumb
I love teaching about plants, but can't
grow a garden at home to save my life.
My husband is a landscaper and our yard
is kind of dismal.
Unless you call cozy coupes, swings,
a wagon and more "curb appeal".

Here's a quickie collage
of what we've done so far with our plants.
They are planted, but they'll
need a lot of love and nurturing over the
next couple weeks. I can't keep them in
my room any longer or I'll kill them and
the kids will be disappointed {wink}.
"My Seed Book" you see here is from
Reagan Tunstall's unit
and the "Plants We Eat" is from Linda Kamp.
The other materials are from a new
little freebie pack I whipped up tonight.
I swear I used to be fun, and didn't spend my
Fridays making plant units.
Take a peek what's inside!

I can't wait to get into all this
with my friendly friends next week!

I'm linking all this freebie goodness up
with Molly at Lucky to be in First.
I'm also doing a double down and linking
up over at Doodlebugs.
Happy weekend everyone!
I have my brother's fiancé's bridal shower!
Exciting times happy for him
and I LOVE my sister-in-law to be.

  1. I love that song too! We've sung it for graduation in the past. Thank you so much for the cute freebie. It's perfect!

If you have a half a sec feel free to leave a comment. Thanks!
