My Primary Powers gals have gotten together to come up
with some one word resolutions for 2015.
Here's mine!
I often find myself juggling many many many hats each day.
I am a mom, teacher, wife, blogger, TPTer, chef,
maid, valet, personal shopper and more!
I often feel like a chicken with it's head cut off.
My brain is always running through
lists of things to do, things to remember,
gifts to buy, sports to register for, bills to pay
and what we are out of detergent again?

In 2015 I am going to do my very best to focus on what really matters to me.
1. Family
2. Health
3. Work
4. Grow my TpT shop
5. FUN!!!

Wish me luck!

Can't wait to hear your resolutions!

Happy Weekend Warriors my friends!!
This little blog has been NEGLECTED! I have been stuck under a pile of wrapping paper, bows, toys and cookies. We just finished Christmas Round 4 today. I am so happy to say we are DONE with Christmas until next year!!
This month is all about delicious food!!!
I love food, but I can't say I'm the biggest fan of cooking.
I would like it if I didn't have to do it
It also would be great to not have to grocery shop, chop anything up or clean afterwards.
Other than that, I love to cook!
Also, can you believe my kiddos want
to eat every morning, noon and night??
True Story.
You just get the kitchen clean and someone is hungry,
Annie of Annie's Mac-n-Cheese is my very best friend!
But, even with my moaning I do have
a couple of tried and true recipes to share with you!!!

This is the very beast meatloaf recipe!
Bobby Flay came to little Cape Cod a while back and threw it down with a local diner.

Click here for the diner's meatloaf recipe.

My mom got this out of Cooking Light ages ago.
It is the perfect chili in my opinion!!
I think a pot of it is in store for vacation week!
Click here for this yummy goodness.

Chicken Bacon Goodness
These are a little bit of heaven from the infamous Paula Dean.
Simple and delicious.
You'll be the hit of the party with these!
Grab it here!

And if all else fails be sure to always have a case of this on hand!

Don't forget to visit all the other Weekend Warriors!
Be sure to eat something before hand.
These posts will make your mouth water!!

Happy Holiday Season!!

I sure am!
I'm here with my Primary Powers gals to offer you a
holiday freebie to lighten your load!!
How cute is this button by the sweet Mrs. Richardson?!?

My self and my students are LOVING my
I Spy Centers!
I wanted to share one of the literacy centers from my new "I Spy December" pack

It will totally help you to deal with the holiday crazies!! Pop a clipboard in your kiddos hands and have them go searching to fill in their recording sheet. They will hardly even know they are working!

I have a cold.
That is all.
Woah is me.
It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas is first grade this week!!
We did a few things to get in the holiday spirit.
This really is the most wonderful time of the year.
Stay tuned til the bottom of this post!
There are lots of freebies =)

First things first I knew the crazy was coming. Kids just can't help themselves this time of year. And I can't a bit either! But, I knew I'd have to pull out some extra special behavior system to win them over this month. Thus, our tree was born!
We earn ornaments each day for cleaning up quietly, lining up quietly, coming to the rug quietly, etc. Quiet is nice, huh? I've made it really clear that above all it has to be a group effort. If one or two people are chatting then "Too bad Brad" no ornament. But, as soon as I catch the whole class doing the right thing. Boom! I smack one up there!!
I had the kiddos make all the ornaments too to make them a bit more invested in the whole process.
You can grab the ornaments I used for the kids here. But you could certainly just have them decorate their own too. If you are more fun than me you could add glitter and sequins too!

We also got in the spirit by making Christ"math" trees!
The kids colored, cut and glued the ornaments on our trees.
Then I had them write a number sentence under the ornament that matched the sum on the ornament.
The kids got to choose whether to add a star or angel to the top of their tree.
You can grab the ornaments and toppers here.
Up next on our Christ"math" adventure was a little lights number sense. I gave the kids a sheet with one number written on the first light and they had to write all the numbers that came after. Then they cut and glue onto a sentence strip. Of course they added a swirly light string too!
Don't they look so festive?!?

Grab all the FREEBIES for your own behavior tree, Christ"math" tree and lights

We also had some fun on a crazy Friday doing my new
"I Spy December Movin' and Groovin' Centers".
It's so much more fun practicing skills when you get to walk around the room!
The set up is easy breezy!
Laminate, cut and tape all around the room.
You can even have the class help out with the taping around the room.
Kids love to be helpful.

Grab all this learning fun here!

 But wait!
I bundled November and December up into this growing bundle. It's so cheap right now and eventually you'll have 10 months of "I Spy" If you buy now you'll be getting 10 months for $10. That's just $1 a month....Woah!
Check it out here!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!

Primary Powers and GoNoodle have
joined forces to create a dynamic duo.
We are sharing all of our best ideas on using GoNoodle.
You have landed at Stop #3!
Or you can start from the beginning here!

I am a hardcore noodler!
My class doesn't actually call it GoNoodle though.
The kiddos have fondly named it "McPufferson".
McPufferson is our adorable little mascot!
You get to choose your mascot when you login.
We like to make it into a voting process in my classroom.
What is so cool about your mascot with GoNoodle is
that the more brain breaks and videos you do with your class
the bigger and better your mascot gets!
Check out this guy!!

I love to use GoNoodle in my classroom to help
kids get from one task to the next and be
motivated to endure and use their best effort.
Oh, and to not talk too much also!
First grade is tough people...and they LOVE talking!!
Yet all I need to say is....
"Once we finish this our activity
at our table we can do a McPufferson!"
Then those cute little fingers get going on the task at hand!
Magic I tell ya!

When we transition (which we do A LOT) I simply need to say
"Let's get to the rug quietly and we can do a McPufferson!".
Then BOOM!- the kids are where we need to be, we rock out to
Koo Koo Kangaroo or Just Dance
for a few short minutes and then KAPOW!
Their little brains are energized and we are ready
to do some mega hardcore learning.

Then comes possibly my most favorite part of the day....
walking in the hall
Ugh trying to herd 23 six year olds down the hall is not for the faint of heart let me tell ya!
Don't worry though!
I think you know the drill.
"Kids- If we make it back the the classroom quietly
we will do a McPufferson before math!"
Boom. You've nailed it!
These little 2-3 minute videos are such
great motivators for the kids self control.
Take my word for it!
You must run, don't walk, to sign up for GoNoodle
