It's Math Monday!
Raise your hand if you are guilty of popping
over to Pinterest and binge pinning?
You now just pin pin pinning away like there are 48 hours
in a day to do everything you pinned and you don't need sleep.
I may need an intervention it is so bad.
I'll sit down on the computer to look up one little thing
and the next thing I know an hour has whizzed by
and I'm not even sure what I was looking up in the first place.
Oh first world problems- how you ail me!
If anyone has any solutions to this please fill me in.
My friend recently sent me this and I think it sums it all up.
Onto some Pinterest goodies...
I love this idea from Flapjack Educational Resources.
Simply put you put the fact on one side and the answer on the other.
The kids can practice with or without a timer to learn those facts quick!
Not sure where the original pin for this game came from,
but I found it at Peterson's Pad.
You velcro or glue fake money onto craft sticks.
Then glue a button onto 4 sticks.
The kids pull and name their sticks.
If you get a button stick- BANG-
all their sticks go back into the jar.
First student to get 5 sticks wins.
I am psyched to put this game together because I know my
kiddos every year need a lot of practice naming coins.
Yay- Math is Fun!!
Lego Math Game
I know I've mentioned this game on my
little blog one other time.
But then my brain got mashed with a bunch of other stuff
and I forgot about it.
But, this week I am going to put this bad boy together.
Math + Legos = Psyched Kids
That is a true equation for sure!!
Grab the freebie for this at Patton's Patch.
Apparently I am living under a rock
and may have been sleeping when I pinned this.
I don't remember looking at this!
Does that ever happen to anyone else?
It's like a Pinterest blackout.
But, I'm glad I rediscovered it!
It's adorable and we can always use help with making 10!
Head over to A Cupcake for the Teacher for
this adorable poster and a freebie worksheet too!
Parking Lot Math
This is an idea I read about a couple years back
on a mom blog and thought about
adopting it for my classroom.
Now I know I must!
The kids will love it.
Going to put it in the plans for next week.
I'd love for you to follow me on my Pinterest bingeing!
**Time for two special celebrations**
My middle lady is four!
We had a fun and busy weekend celebrating.
She is so lucky to get her birthday off
from school every year.
We had some serious Hello Kitty action up in here.
Shea is now the proud owner of everything Hello Kitty!
