I am excited to be ringing in the New Year with
She's hosting a great linky to set forth
goals for 2014.

I'd love to grow as an educator with some awesome
professional development.
Sometimes finding this is easier said than done.
Often New England isn't the biggest hot spot for
conferences and the like.
Any suggestions for a must do conference are welcome!
Dr. Jean is in
New Hampshire in March.
I think I might be making a
road trip in a few months!

I need to read some of the latest and greatest books.
Next Steps in Guiding Reading has been on my shelf for awhile!

I also need to finish Teach Like A Pirate.
And I really should reread The Cafe

I'd really like to get into yoga this year.
I danced my whole life and was always
flexible and limber.
Well then my 30s hit and my body is
getting cricky and cracky.
I need to stretch everything out.
I'd love to start by at least getting to
yoga once a week.
I'd love to try some other workout
options more related to dance, but
living on this island doesn't have a
ton of options.

Visiting places is not really in my
radar right now.
I love my children,
but I'm not ready to fly on a plane
voluntarily with them yet.
Insert random kid photo...
Of course I am planning to go to
Las Vegas for the Tpt conference in July!

I'm not sure we will see much other
travel in my family in the coming year.
Maybe a visit to Sesame Place?!?
We went two years ago with the two oldest
and they loved it so I think we will revisit there.

Also we have two weddings in my family this summer
so we will be doing a little
New England traveling for those.

That's a tricky one!
By nature I have a pretty bland palate
and stick with plain and simple foods.
Neither my husband or I are "foodies".
Dinner is pretty basic around here.
chicken - pasta - tacos - meatloaf - etc
I think I'd like to get rid of some food choices
rather than add things in.
I should try more veggies!

I think I need to learn how to make
rainbow loom bracelets.

I know that sounds ridiculous, but my
son really wants to learn them so I'll
do what I gotta do.
I've watched a few youtube videos
and I'm sure I'll love it.
I'd love to learn more about my
fancy camera as well.
And while I'm at a list of things I'm
sure I'll never have time for let's
throw in sewing and crocheting too!

I really want to quit soda.
I'll stop for a few days,
but never long enough!
I get that noontime slump
and need a pick me up.
All suggestions are welcome
on this one!

I want to find more time to create
products for my classroom.
I love adding to my tpt shop.
Blogging and tpt have really
revolutionized the way I think about
and approach teaching.
I always thought I had to buy things
to fit my classroom.
No way Jose!
I can create things that are
needed for my students.
It's a great new approach for me
and I love it!

I'd like to be a bit more present
with my kiddos.
Put the phone down and the
computer away when we are together.
This can be hard, but I'm going to work at it.
Now that the littlest is getting older
it is getting much easier to be out and about.
We need more family adventures!

I'm linking up with three lovely blogging ladies today to reflect on 2013!
are hosting this for everyone to share 13 things about 2013.
If you are a blogger this linky in super fun!

13. Favorite article of clothing
These boots from Keen.
You can wear them dress up or dress down!
And no matter what my husband will always
crack a joke about horse back riding lessons.

12. Favorite movie you watched
I have a hard time retaining a
favorite movie all year.
Whatever I just saw tends
to be my favorite.
I used to go to movies all the time.
Then I had three children.
So here are my most recent favorites.
I did see a few movies in 2013.

We're the Millers

Catching Fire
I loved it!
I can't wait for the next one.

11. Favorite TV series
Hands down...
Orange is the New Black
I watched it in 3 days!

I am also so excited for Shameless to return next week.
Can you tell from my taste in shows that
I may not be the most lady like gal?
he! he!

10. Favorite restaurant
The Ocean House
Dennis, Ma

If you ever visit Cape Cod this is the must try spot.
It's beautiful, right on the water.
The food makes me drool.
Actually as I write this post there is a little tiny drool
coming out of the corner of my mouth.

9. Favorite new thing you tried
Blogging and TpT
Seriously this has been life changing.
Not only have I met some amazing people,
but it has also helped focus me as a teacher.
Honestly, it's the best professional development out there!

8. Favorite gift you got
The Teachers Pay Teachers I recently got
from a student was pretty sweet!
My best gift was to myself through...
my very own MacBook Pro!
So nice to have a computer that is all mine.
I also am going to go mush here for a sec...
I love those picture I get all day that are
taking over the doors of my back closet.
I wish I had a picture of the pictures.
First graders really are so sweet.
Even if you have to speak to them in the morning
by lunch they love you to pieces again!

7. Favorite thing you pinned
Pinterest is the black hole to nowhere.
I just popped over there to find my fave pin.
There are a million pins there that
I don't ever remember pinning.

There is one pin I always go back to.
Check out this pin for a yummy pasta salad!

6. Favorite blog post
This blog post has a freebie of mine
that was featured in the tpt newsletter {blush}.
Hope you enjoy it too!

5. Best accomplishment
Can I say keeping my children
fed, dressed and mostly happy?
I spend A LOT of time doing this and
I think it's going pretty well so far.
I also am really happy that
I took the leap of faith to be a blogger.
I read and read and read blogs and thought
"I can do that" & "I should do that".
I'm pleased as punch that I finally decided
to be like Nike and JUST DO IT!

4. Favorite picture
Going to go with our family photo!
Love this one too!

3. Favorite memory
Summer...every last bit of it!
I love love love summertime.
I miss seeing it go and I long for it all year.
These New England winters are for the birds!
I could do shorts and flip flops all year.
You southern warm climate people have no idea
how jealous I am!

2. Goal for 2014
My goal is to get my little tpt shop cranking!
I have a list a mile long of products to create.
I love the creating process,
but have no timeat my nuthouse.
That's my loving term for our happy home!
I need to squeeze an extra day or two
into every week and I'll be all set.
Any tips on this?

1. One Little Word
I feel so blessed for my family and our health.
Everything else is just sauce on top!
I'd say gravy, but I think it's gross.

And I'm back!
Sorry for the little hiatus friends!
I have just resurfaced from under the flurry of
wrapping paper, opening toys, sorting legos,
stuffing my face and so much more.
Yesterday I was a mad woman tucking Christmas away.
Our tree was drier than dry!
It was time to move on to the next season...
Winter- blech!

I'm linking up with my friend
Jen from Teaching in the Tongass
for some holiday photo fun!

So here's a little random goodness from before
 this glorious vacation commenced.

We did a little sequin decorating on foam gingerbreads and trees.
This little lady did an amazing job! Project runway anyone?

We played "Lights Out!" for a little 3 digit addition practice.
This is in my Math Workshop December packet.

We loved making these adorable paper ornament crafts from First Grade Blue Skies.
Check out her bulletin board and adroable blog post here

My room mom made these for our holiday party.
How cute!
Just a little sharpie on cheese sticks.

As a teacher I never expect any gifts,
but I am always pleasantly surprised.
I think it's so cute and sweet when kids give you something
just to have something to give.
The thought that they took some time at
home to make a little something for their teacher warms my heart.
I love every bow, picture and homemade bookmark!
But this gift was AWESOME!
Made my day!

Lots has fun has been had since we
tasted freedom last Friday!
Has it been a week already?!?
Here's a whole buncha pics!
A little selfie action.

My handsome Christmas date!

New jammies, fire, cocoa, books and off to sleep for Santa time!

Let's just say Santa may have hid these cookies at
the bottom of the trash can. Gross!

This dollhouse is a hit!

And just what every girl wants....
her very own backyard ice rink!
Merry Christmas to me!'

That was a lot of photos!
I hope to be back in this space one
more times in 2013!!
